Workshop Summary:

Travel through time with our workshop practitioners as they take your students through all the important parts of Ancient Egyptian history.

Our practitioners bring your Ancient Egypt topic to life by taking your class on an "absolutely fantastic" time-travelling educational escapade to Ancient Egypt.

Our "wonderful, inspiring, language-rich" 'Ancient Egypt: A Time Travel Tour' workshop, will engage, entertain and educate your students by incorporating drama activities, role-play, live performance and storytelling.

We utilise the structure and interactivity of a drama workshop to bring history to life for all. This style of workshop is "refreshing and ensures all are able to participate". And our experienced practitioners keep the session "jam-packed with facts".

Your students will use their acting skills to become the visual aids and assist in their peers' learning experience! This guarantees your pupils will be "raving about it".

We promise "lots of learning and lots of laughs!". As one teacher told us, regards their student's experience; "It has been magical for them."

In our half-day 'Ancient Egypt: A Time Travel Tour' workshop, your students will:

  • Travel through time with our workshop practitioners, exploring all of the important parts of Ancient Egyptian history. Utilise drama, performance, and roleplay to recreate and visit all of Ancient Egypt's essential monuments and figures.

  • Join a practitioner, taking on the role of Pharaoh Khufu, as the King of Egypt struggles to construct the Great Pyramid of Giza. This interactive session will enable students to learn how the Pyramids were built, whilst taking part in an exciting challenge!

  • Don their detective hats and solve a historical mystery, just how did Tutankhamun die? This interactive role-play will put the student's puzzle-solving skills to the test!

  • Use their acting skills to recreate what life was like in Ancient Egypt under some of the key Pharaohs such as Rameses the Great, Akhenaten the heretic, the female Pharaoh Hatshepsut, and the boy king himself, Tutankhamun. Will the students be able to pass this Ultimate Time Travel challenge?

In our full-day 'Ancient Egypt: A Time Travel Tour' workshop, your students will enjoy all of the above activities, plus:

  • Learn more fascinating details behind the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza and continue to use their knowledge to assist Pharaoh Khufu.

  • Take part in an expanded version of our Ultimate Time Travel Challenge. Featuring: The Ghost Story of Mentuhotep II and The Life and Times of Cleopatra.

  • Enjoy break out group sessions exploring the mysterious death of Tutankhamun, providing pupils with the opportunity to devise and present their own historical theories to their class.

  • Investigate the fascinating elements of Ancient Egyptian Mummification and take part in our Canopic Jar Smell Challenge. Can the pupils identify the ingredients and oils used in Mummification using only their noses?
