The ancient Maya have over 200 gods depicted as figurines, friezes, painting and painted. But how can you tell the gods from the kings? In this 60 minute workshop your pupils will learn to identify the gods from the mortals, They will then focus on a handful of the key gods, learning their role in the Maya world. Pupils are encouraged to respond both verbally and through chat during this interactive workshop and time is given at the end for questions.

Led by our expert beatboxer this workshop instructs students on how to create vocal percussion sounds.This workshop will start off with an introduction and beatboxing demonstration by the facilitator, followed by a short icebreaker exercise so students can feel more comfortable around one another. Our facilitator will teach students popular vocal techniques such as the kick drum, hi-hat and snare.

We can also examine thin-sections of rocks under the microscope, rock-forming minerals, and weathering of rocks.
